The locomotive of a passenger train running on the Chisinau – Ocnita route caught fire in the evening of June 8, when the train stopped at the station in Parlita, Ungheni, IPN reports.

The fire damaged a part of the engine section. Two firefighting vehicles travelled to the scene. When the fire was put out, the train continued its way.

In March, a renovated train running on the Ungheni-Chisinau route started to burn when it stopped at the station in Straseni. The engineer’s compartment was affected and the smoke entered the first railcar.
