The staff of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) announced that dozens of statements signed by local elected officials from Drochia, Cimislia, Orhei, Causeni and Sangerei were sent to the party’s head office following the call of the Liberal-Democratic leader Vlad Filat to condemn the splitting of society and to support the European state Moldova, IPN reports.
In their statements, the councilors state that Moldova is a sovereign, independent, unitary and indivisible state and vehemently condemn the actions to destabilize the situation and to block the European development path of Moldova. They express their disagreement with any separatist manifestation and plead for coming closer to the EU.
The PLDM says the statements were signed by representatives of different political organizations from the public administration of the first and second levels. Earlier this month, Vlad Filat called on the parties and authorities to condemn the actions aimed at dividing Moldova.
