The municipal authorities are looking for the Christmas tree that will be placed in the central square of Chisinau. In the November 6 meeting of officials of Chisinau services and divisions, deputy mayor Nistor Grozavu said they already received several proposals and these will be analyzed, IPN reports.
“They can say that the fir tree is 20 meters in high, but when we go to see the tree and measure it, we determine that it is smaller,” stated Nistor Grozavu.
According to him, the sum that will be allocated for purchasing the tree is not yet known. A nice fir tree is expensive, but there are owners who are ready to give the tree gratis.
By tradition, the Christmas tree in the Great National Assembly Square of Chisinau will be inaugurated on December 1.
Last year, the main Christmas tree of the country cost 15,000 lei, but the money was provided by a businessman. Two years ago, the municipal authorities decorated a fir tree growing near the Triumphal Arch.
