The Cabinet proposes to Parliament for ratification the amendment to the framework lending agreement between the Republic of Moldova and the Council of Europe Development Bank for implementing the project to build the penitentiary in Chisinau. The amendment provides that the initially negated loan of €39 million will be increased by €10 million. The lending agreement with the banking institution was signed on November 11, 2019, IPN reports.
The necessity of increasing the financing for the project derives from the higher costs, including the price of the lot on which the penitentiary will be erected, in Bubueci, and of the building materials.
The loan from the Council of Europe Development Bank will thus total €49 million.
