The Government of Moldova will sign a lending agreement with UniCreditBank Austria AG concerning the financing of the Strengthening the Rescue and Frightening Service in Rural Areas Project. Minister of Finance Anatol Arapu will sign the accord on behalf of Moldova, IPN reports.
Based on this accord, UniCreditBank Austria AG will provide €7 million for buying 27 firefighting vehicles for villages.
Currently, the rescue and firefighting units have 152 vehicles, but need 406. Many of the used vehicles are very old.
When the project is completed, the time for responding to emergency calls will decrease to 15 minutes, which is close to the European standards.
