Little girls die in house fire
Two sisters aged one year and respectively three years died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a fire in Delacau village of Anenii Noi district on November 5.
Dorina Sochirca, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told Info-Prim Neo that when the fire happened, the children were alone. They probably played with the fire and set the house on fire.
Mayor of Delacau Petru Tuchilus has told Info-Prim Neo that the girls lived with their mother and grandfather. Their father was working in Russia. When the tragedy struck, nobody was at home. The mother said she visited her neighbor and was absent for about 15 minutes, but experts said the fire lasted longer.
The Civil Protection and Emergencies Service warns the parents and all those looking after children not to leave them without supervision and explain to them that it is very dangerous to play with fire.
As many as 108 persons, seven of whom children, have been killed in fires in Moldova so far this year.
