Little girl died in Hâncești after applying veterinary solution on hair

A 9-year-old girl has died, and another 10-year-old is admitted to the hospital after applying Diacidol 60% on their hair. The death occurred at the Hâncești District Hospital, on August 27, at 02:00 o'clock, Mariana Bețivu, a press officer within the General Police Inspectorate, told IPN.

According to Mariana Bețivu, the law officers were informed about the incident on August 27, around 01:35, by a medical assistant working at the Hâncești District Hospital. He informed the officers that two minors from the village of Crasnoarmeiscoe were admitted to the medical institution, received medical care, both being in serious condition due to poisoning with concentrated Diacidol 60%, a solution used for removing animal lice.

"The operating team and the subdivision management of IP Hâncești were dispatched to the scene", said Mariana Bețivu.

The IGP press officer added that the mothers of both girls are abroad. "The police are investigating all the circumstances of this case", said Mariana Bețivu.

In June 2019, another minor, from the village of Teleșeu, Orhei district, died after being administered a veterinary substance for therapeutic purposes. The girl's cousin, also intoxicated, survived after receiving intensive care.

A similar incident took place in April this year and resulted in the death of a minor in the Cahul district. For therapeutic purposes, the child was administered a substance prepared in domestic conditions.
