Lithuanian Defence Minister visits Moldova
The bilateral cooperation between the Moldovan and Lithuanian armies, as well as possibilities to broaden the cooperation in the future formed the key part of the discussions held today between Moldovan Minister of Defence Valeriu Plesca and his Lithuanian counterpart Juozas Olekas, who is on a visit to Moldova, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to the head of the Department for External Relations and Military Policy of the Ministry of Defence, Veceaslav Bugai, the Lithuanian official arrived in Chisinau this morning with the purpose to discuss a number of aspects concerning the bilateral cooperation. In addition, the Lithuanian minister will hold meetings with Moldova’s leadership and decision makers from the National Army.
The Moldova-Lithuania Agreement on Defence Cooperation was signed by Moldovan Defence Minister Valeriu Plesca in April 2006, during his official visit to Vilnius.
