Lithuanian and Czech foreign ministers on visit to Moldova
First Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of the Czech Republic Karel Schwarzenberg will be paying an official visit to Moldova on February 28 – March 1. The Foreign Minister of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius is expected to come to Chisinau on March 1, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a communiqué from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Karel Schwarzenberg will take part in the opening of the Forum of Moldovan-Czech Businessmen that will involve representatives of a number of Czech companies. He will also have meetings with President Nicolae Timofti and Prime Minister Vladimir Filat.
The topics for discussion include the development of the Moldova-EU dialogue, the prospects of developing the bilateral relations at multiple levels, the implementation of projects of assistance offered by the Czech Government, Moldova being among the top countries benefiting from assistance within the Czech assistance for development program.
Linas Linkevičius will also meet with Nicolae Timofti and Vladimir Filat. Besides, he will have meetings with Head of Parliament Marian Lupu and the Liberal Party head Mihai Ghimpu.
The officials will discuss Moldova’s European integration course, given that Lithuania will take over the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2013, and issues related to the bilateral relations.
