The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania decided to finance the Strengthening of Food Safety and Veterinary Control System in Moldova project for 2008-2010, initiated by the State Food and Veterinary Service of Lithuania. The project aims to modernize the milk, meat, eggs and honey production and processing sectors, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry. Training courses will be held in Lithuania and Moldova as part of the project. From this year until 2010, Lithuanian veterinary experts will assess how the mentioned sectors are being modernized and will monitor how the recommendations of the European Commission are being implemented. The first visit by Lithuanian specialists to Moldova as part of the given project will be made between August 18 and 22, 2008.
