Lit cigaret causes new victim
A man died from carbon monoxide poisoning in a fire that was allegedly caused by a lit cigarette.
Dorina Cruc, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, stated for Info-Prim Neo that the fire broke out at an abandoned farm in Carpineni village of Hancesti district. A resident of the village found the body of a homeless 40-year-old man in the guards' room of the farm.
The man was lying on an improvised bed damaged by the fire. Experts of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service are investigating the case.
Four fires happened in Moldova on Tuesday, January 12 - one in Chisinau, two in Hancesti district and one in Cimislia district. The 65 fires that occurred this year claimed 11 lives.
