The Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) filed the subscription lists with signatures in support of Tudor Deliu as a candidate for President to the Central Election Commission. Under the electoral legislation, the CEC has seven days to register or reject the candidate.

Contacted by IPN for a comment, Tudor Deliu said the subscription lists contain 21,396 signatures that were collected in 30 territorial-administrative units of the second level.

“The process of collecting signatures wasn’t at all easy given the pandemic. The Liberal Democratic Party worked out a strategy to reach each household and to discuss with each citizen apart. That’s why the process probably lasted,” stated the politician, voicing hope the signatures will turn into real votes.

The PLDM’s candidate Tudor Deliu is the fourth who submits the signatures to the CEC. Earlier, this was done by Pro Moldova’s candidate Andrian Candu, Our Party’s candidate Renato Usatyi and the candidate of the Party “Dignity and Truth Platform” Andrei Năstase. The last two were already registered.

The aspirants can collect signatures by October 1.
