List of works proposed for public-private partnerships approved
An automated intelligent information system for monitoring road traffic, including the ICT and engineering infrastructure, will be implemented under a public-private partnership by 2013. The list of works and services of public interest proposed for public-private partnerships that was approved by the Government includes 10 state-owned facilities and nine works and services, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The list contains the Chisinau International Airport that is to be leased out under a public-private partnership project, the Balti International Airport, the complex Biotron of the Academy of Sciences, two sections of the Porumbeni – Cimislia bypass, the building and the adjoining land located on Banulescu-Bodoni St in Chisinau, etc.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar said the public-private partnership is useful both to the state and the investors that will become private partners in these important projects.
“Regretfully, Moldova does not have financial resources to repair certain facilities and improve the quality of important services for population. We thus use such instruments as the public-private partnership. If we know how to manage these projects and to correctly share the responsibilities and benefits, we will succeed,” he stated.
