The disabled, participants and the families of the people dying in liquidating the consequences of the Chernobyl catastrophe will get material aid by April 26 – the day commemorating the event, Info-Prim Neo has learnt from the Social Protection Ministry. About 2,300 people will get by 500 lei, according to the lists compiled by the local administrations. The explosion of reactor 4 of the Nuclear Plant from Chernobyl, Ukraine, occurred on April 26, 1986. As many as 600,000 people from all the Soviet republics were mobilized to liquidate the consequences of the blast.
