Liliana Palihovici encourages children to insist for their rights to be respected

Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovici encourages children to be active in the community and to insist for their rights to be respected at home, at school and in society. The words were said during the National Children’s Forum 2012, which took place in Chisinau on November 19-20, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to a press release of the Liberal-Democrat parliamentary group, 70 children who participated in the Forum had an open dialogue with Liliana Palihovici on the UN Convention on Children’s Rights Day. The Deputy Speaker told the UNICEF representative in Moldova Alexandra Yuster that children are the no. 1 priority in Moldova. “I know very well their problems related to the education field as I have two boys at home and I talk with them about these reforms. A child is full of virtues that must be harnessed”, said Liliana Palihovici. The participating children represent work groups and consultative councils from Calarasi, Chisinau, Falesti, Leova, Orhei and Ungheni, including children with disabilities, Roma children, graduates of boarding schools and beneficiaries of alternative care services. The National Children’s Forum 2012 was organized by the Center of Information and Documentation regarding Children’s Rights, the National Council for the Protection of Children’s Rights and UNICEF Moldova.
