Liliana Palihovich: We wanted Moldova to have a Government from today

The parliamentary group of the Liberal Democratic Party of Moldova wanted the country to have a Government from today, Liberal-Democratic Deputy Speaker Liliana Palihovich said after the failed sitting of the legislature. She told the press she regrets the absence of a quorum and described the absence of MPs as an act of irresponsibility, IPN reports.

“Regrettably, the meeting could not take place as a quorum was not present. We regret it and consider that this is an irresponsible act by the MPs. It shows lack of education and political culture. The group of the PLDM was fully present and believes that the candidate for Prime Minister, the list of candidates for minister and the government program deserved to be considered in Parliament,” said Liliana Palihovich.

“We wanted Moldova to have a Government from today so that the political crisis ended. We can do nothing but act in accordance with the Constitution and the legislation.”

The attempt to invest the Sturza Government failed as only 47 MPs of the 101 were present at the special sitting of Parliament and this could not take place.
