Lilian Carp, Vladimir Cebotari about scenarios concerning new government

The electoral bloc NOW DA PAS will not change its mind and will not cooperate with any of the three parties that entered the new Parliament following the validation of elections by the Constitutional Court. For its part, the Democratic Party designed four scenarios concerning the formation of a legislative majority. Entities’ plans were discussed by MPs-elect Lilian Carp and Vladimir Cebotari in the talk show “Black box” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

MP of the bloc NOW DA PAS Lilian Carp said the commitments undertaken by the bloc before the voters will find a refection in the bills that they will propose in Parliament. They will then see who will support those bills. The bloc’s parliamentary group will not yet cooperate with the PDM, PSRM and the Shor Party to form an alliance.

Lilian Carp noted that to be able to maintain chances in taking over the local public administration, given that the administrative factor was very important in these elections and will be as important in next year’s presidential elections, the PDM will most probably form an informal alliance with the PSRM. In such a case, a technocratic Government proposed by the President could be formed with Democrats’ votes. This Government will run to Brussels in the morning and then to Moscow in the evening.

Democratic MP Vladimir Cebotari said the PDM banks first of all on negotiations with NOW. If the bloc refuses, they could form a broader coalition with the PSRM and the bloc NOW. Also, the PDM could form a coalition with the PSRM. If this scenario is not possible, the PDM remains open to discussions with any MPs who wants to contribute to the formation of a healthy ruling alliance that will govern in the interests of the people and of Moldova during the next four years.

“In the evening the polling stations were closed, we said it clearly that we do not accept and will not impose conditions and conditionality elements. We will be flexible to discuss and to reach compromises on a number of issues within the legal, constitutional limits, in a democratic and transparent way. The extremist, populist, anarchist approaches are excluded from the start,” stated Vladimir Cebotari.

In the February 24 parliamentary elections, the Democratic Party won 30 seats of MP, while the electoral bloc NOW – 26 seats of the total 101.
