The team of the documentary film workshop Moldvox, of the Moldox la Țară (Rural Moldova) initiative, in the evening of May 29 presented three short documentaries about the life of Moldovan villages. During half a year, four young people from Moldova collected facts and made films that present the problems faced by the rural regions in our country, IPN reports.
Carolina Buimestru worked as a rural social assistant. His film relates the drama of girls from Lalova village who long for their mothers and live in poverty. In Lalova village, the storks are more often alongside their families than girls’ parents.
Documentary photographer Maria Guțu through her film speaks about Duruitoarea village that is situated in northern Moldova. Even if the village has tourist potential, this faces environmental and migration-related problems and a shortage of jobs. Despite all the difficulties, some of the inhabitants of the village do such crafts as carving in wood, while others amuse themselves so as not to be overwhelmed by distresses.
Financial specialist Veaceslav Botezatu and lawyer Viorel Plopa through their film relate the difficulties experienced by a volleyball coach and his team from Dondușeni town. The authors of the film promote the local personalities and business community.
The documentary film workshop was managed by Romanian film director and photographer Nora Agapi, who won the image and direction prizes for the documentary “Timebox” in the 2019 International Documentary Film Festival ”Cronograf” held in Chisinau.
