The lifetime allowance for coaches of professional athletes will be recalculated annually starting with January 1, 2024. A decision to this effect was approved by the Cabinet on December 21. So far, only professional athletes have benefited from such recalculation, IPN reports.

The one-off payment is to be recalculated by the Ministry of Education and Research for each beneficiary, after the National Bureau of Statistics communicates data on the average monthly salary in the economy for the previous year, with subsequent transmission of information to the National House of Social Insurance.

Currently, 68 people - 45 professional athletes and 23 coaches - benefit from a lifetime allowance paid from the state budget.
