Liberals urge opposition parties to initiate post-election coalition
The Liberal Party (PL) calls on the opposition parties to set up a post-election coalition. It has issued a statement reading that the PL will make all its best to initiate a democratic coalition, grounding on the principles of a competent, honest governance in the citizens' interests, Info-Prim Neo reports.
PL president Mihai Ghimpu told a news conference on Wednesday he had repeatedly discussed with the opposition parties about setting up a government to curb poverty and to integrate the country into Europe.
He says the doors are closed for the Communists Party (PCRM). Talks are possible with the Christian-Democrats and with the Social-Democrats, if they pass the electoral threshold and if they pledge they will struggle against the PCRM's staying in power.
The PL leaders say they realize the complexity of the problems entailed by governing the country. They are confident the future government, by correctly managing the state budget, will pay the salaries and pensions in time and will raise them at least at the level of the minimum consumer basket.
