Liberals see no reason for AEI colleagues opposing bill on castration

The Liberal lawmakers see no reason for which the Democrats and Liberal-Democrats may refuse to re-adopt the law on the chemical castration of pedophiles. The deputy chairman of the Liberal Party Valeriu Munteanu, who drafted the bill, said the other parties of the Alliance for European Integration agreed to send the law for re-voting and will thus vote in favor of it, Info-Prim Neo reports. “A number of persons oppose this law, but I did not hear plausible arguments against its adoption. As there are now no other mechanism for eradicating this phenomenon, I don’t think that some of the MPs changed their minds since the last voting,” Valeriu Munteanu told the press. The MP is sure that all the member parties of the AEI understand and are able to fulfill the commitments made to international organizations and will thus adopt the overdue laws. “We should identity and remove the legal shortcomings. Afterward, we will vote this law,” said Democratic MP Adrian Candu. He also said that the parliamentary commissions will probably hold extraordinary meetings to pronounce on the overdue laws, including the bill on equal opportunities and the bill with amendments to the Law on the CCCEC.
