The Council for Reforming the Liberal Party (PL) called on the colleagues from the party to vote for the pro-European Government of Iurie Leanca in Parliament on May 30. In a news conference, the reformers said they are ashamed of their minority Liberal colleagues from the faction, who show lack of maturity and responsibility towards the people, IPN reports.
Liberal MP Ana Gutu said that not supporting the investiture of a pro-European Government in the present political crisis means direct, even if tacit, association with the opinion of the Communist opposition in Parliament, which frequently pleaded for Moldova joining the Russia-Belarus-Kazakhstan Customs Union.
She also said that if the Liberal lawmakers do not support a pro-European Government, this will mean disappointing the voters of the PL and burying the ideal of ridding Moldova of the Russian imperial influence and of joining the European family.
In the same news conference, the reformers called on the colleagues from the PDM and PLDM to leave the ambitions aside, renounce the personal or party interests and adopt a correct position.
The leader of the group of reformers Ion Hadarca said that despite the existing pressure, a pro-European Government must be voted in. In the negotiations on the constitution of a parliamentary majority, it was decided that they will continue to manage the ministries entrusted to the PL earlier.
For the new Government to be invested, Prime Minister designate Iurie Leanca must gain at least 51 votes in Parliament.
