Liberal Party will request replacing judges of Balti Court of Appeals
The Liberal Party (PL) will demand that the judges of the Balti Court of Appeals be replaced as one of them is a relative of the former head of the Security and Information Service, Communist lawmaker Artur Reshetnikov, mayor of Chisinau and vice president of the PL Dorin Chirtoaca informed, quoted by Info-Prim Neo.
“Our lawyers will take all the steps needed, but we should not forget that we live in Moldova, where everything is possible. We will fight till the end, as we should. The people should not be misled. It is evident that this is a political order. I’m convinced that the residents of the municipality will not permit persons who have court decisions in hand to be intimidated. Society will definitely react, no matter how unpleasant the situation is,” Dorin Chirtoaca told the reporters.
He said that what’s happening in the legal system shows how the Communists ruled for eight years. “It is obvious that the state power was usurped through the agency of courts of law. We either get rid of the Communists, or they will swallow us. This is clear,” said Dorin Chirtoaca.
The Communist Party’s appeal against the primary court’s decision to validate the seat of Dorin Chirtoaca is to be examined by the Balti Court of Appeals on July 8. The Supreme Court of Justice decided to transfer the case to Balti after the Communists asserted that the judges of the Chisinau Court of Appeals are politically influenced.
The Communists demand annulling the results of the June 19 elections and holding new elections.
