Liberal Party to sue CEC over referendum video
The National Liberal Party (PNL) will challenge in court the decision by the Central Election Commission to forbid the party's video launched for the referendum campaign, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The party's leader Vitalia Pavlicenco stated at the CEC's sitting on Friday that the CEC adopted this decision at the bidding of the government, which, according to her, is irritated by the “unionist message” of her party.
“Not only the Communists are disturbed by our unionist message, but also the Alliance for European Integration is. This is how we explain the acceptance and the endorsement given to the complaint by the PCRM. At the same time, the reason why the Communists attacked the PNL is their fear that the people will be influenced by our unionist message and will abandon the Russophile and Romania-phobic message promoted by them”, stated Vitalia Pavlicenco.
The Communist Party requested the CEC to ban the PNL's referendum video complaining in particular that it called for unification with Romania, in detriment to Moldova's statehood and sovereignty. The CEC satisfied the complaint and banned the transmission of the video on all televisions.
