Liberal party pleads for selective unification of liberal forces
The Liberal Party (PL) pleads for the unification of liberal forces from the R. of Moldova. Still they oppose the idea of creating an alliance with persons who represented structures of soviet occupation ore those who supported the Communists’ Party in some manner, leader of the party, Mihai Ghimpu, told a press-conference Tuesday, October 24.
Another leader of PL, Dorin Chirtoaca, declared that the idea of unification should be based on principles of honesty and correctness, in order to prevent errors committed by other similar alliances. He also thinks that the initiative of creating a united liberal force was promoted earlier on the background of a lack of actions, representing, in reality only an attempt to accumulate political capital.
In this respect, PL believes that in case such an alliance is created, it should be based on absolutely clear principles, a thing that never happened to date. “The creation of a political structure, which seems to be imposed or negotiated from positions of superiority, with lots of statements but without honest signals of starting a dialogue, by distorting the reality and talking about a single Liberal Party, shows the lack of seriousness and good will of those who advocate the consolidation of the liberal movement.”
Earlier, the Social Liberal Party (PSL) announced the idea of unification of all the liberal forces of Moldova into a single organization, which would include PSL, PL, European Party, liberals excluded from AMN as well as other parties of liberal orientation who will express their interest in this political project.
