Liberal Democrats want to speed up negotiations

After a meeting of PLDM's parliamentary group, the Liberal Democrat MPs demanded the acceleration of negotiations on coalition formation, with an emphasis on respecting the principles of responsibility, continuity of reforms, professionalism and legality, so that a new pro-European Cabinet would be appointed in the near future, IPN reports.

PLDM announced that its MPs discussed topics regarding the organization of the activity of the Lib-Dem parliamentary group, the future responsibilities of each MP according to his or her professional skills, and the planning of the political agenda for the upcoming period. The MPs also talked about the new Parliament's immediate legislative priorities.

As regards the unfolding of negotiations on the formation of a parliamentary majority, the Lib-Dems opted for fixing several clear benchmarks that would help achieve a better efficiency and finality for the process. The PLDM MPs are in favor of strengthening and streamlining parliamentary control, as well as assuring the gradual and real depoliticization of autonomous institutions with functions of monitoring, regulating, controlling and enforcing the law.
