Liberal councilors in Rascani will be penalized

The councilors of the Liberal Party in Rascani district, who voted for a candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party for the post of district head, will be punished. “Our members will be held accountable,” chairman of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said, without giving names, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Ghimpu said that it was a kind of game between the councilors in Rascani. “We have not yet analyzed the results of the local elections, but we will hold a council, where every district head will account for the results achieved,” he stated, adding ironically that in some of the districts the Liberals may form coalitions with the Communist Party “because the Communists in districts are kinder”. The head of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group Valeriu Strelet said that the colleges in Rascani managed to reach a reasonable compromise. “Such a compromise should be reached in the other 25 districts as well,” he stressed. The Democratic Party head Marian Lupu said in this connection that this case should be regarded as an exception rather than a rule as such an approach is not very constructive. Rascani is the first district that designated its head before the leaders of the ruling alliance signed the agreement to constitute local alliances. A representative of the Liberal Democratic Party was voted in this post by the Communist and Liberal councilors.
