Libe-Dems set four objectives for parliamentary session

The legislative agenda of the Liberal Democrat Party of Moldova (PLDM) in the spring-summer session will center on four key objectives. The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group will support all the initiatives on the European integration and education, the creation of more jobs and the fight against corruption, Deputy Head of Parliament Liliana Palihovici and head of the Liberal-Democratic faction Valeriu Strelet said in a news conference, quoted by IPN.

Liliana Palihovici said the PLDM will vote for bills proposed by the Government, which will be aimed at obtaining a liberalized visa regime with the EU and the immediate ratification of the Association Agreement initialed last autumn.

The Deputy Speaker added that the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group will concentrate on legislative initiatives on education, namely the new Education Code, the strategy for developing the education sector until 2020 and the implementation of the vocational education reform for which the EU will provide €25 million.

Valeriu Strelet said the Lib-Dems will work to create more workplaces and to encourage the development of a stimulatory and motivating business environment. They will support the initiative to create a Stability and Assistance Fund for producers that will face external challenges and embargoes and will promote legislative initiatives to debureaucratize starting of businesses.

He added that they will insist on the promotion of initiatives to reform the prosecution services and to disciplinarily punish judges and on the correct implement of the set of anticorruption laws. They will also plead for limiting the immunity of MPs. A relevant constitutional amendment is to enter the Parliament’s agenda in May.
