Lib-Dems urge Marian Lupu to resign

The Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group called on the Head of Parliament Marian Lupu to tender his resignation after the Communist faction requested including a bill on the dismissal of the Speaker in the April 25 sitting of the legislative body, IPN reports.

The head of the Liberal-Democratic group Valeriu Strelet said the circumstances are perfect for Marian Lupu to show bravery and ponder over the zero variant. He alluded to the Democratic Party’s insistence before the dismissal of the Government, when Marian Lupu said that Vlad Filat should resign and he would also resign afterward, while the ruling agreement should be negotiated from zero.

Marian Lupu replied that he will not resign to please them. “Vote for the bill. This will be an act of bravery and courage,” he stated, addressing the Lib-Dems.

The Liberal-Democratic group also asked creating a commission for analyzing how the Democratic Party’s bill on the joint electoral system was passed as they consider there were made certain mistakes. His colleague Ion Butmalai demanded reexamining the vote when Corneliu Gurin was elected as prosecutor general.

As a result, the Democratic Party asked for a break of one hour.
