Lib-Dems had largest number of absences from Parliament sittings in 2012

The members of the Liberal-Democratic parliamentary group were absent from the largest number of sittings in the 2012 session – 142. They are followed by the Communist MPs with 114 absences. But the 31 sittings boycotted by the Communists weren’t taken into account, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting the reports published on the legislature’s website. The Democratic MPs had 81 absences, while the Liberal ones - 60. The 9 unaffiliated lawmakers had 37 absences in 2012. Mark Tkachuk had the largest number of absences among the Communist MPs, Valeriu Ghiletski among the Lib-Dems, Vlad Plahotniuc and Stella Jantuan among the Democratic lawmakers, while Corina Fusu and Boris Vieru among the Liberal MPs. The absentees made trips abroad or had some personal problems. As many as 510 bills were submitted to Parliament for examination in 2012. Most of them were tabled by the Government. Among factions, the largest number of bills was proposed by the Liberal-Democrats. The lawmakers adopted over 250 bills. As many as 15 bills were rejected, 14 of which were put forward by Communists. Liberal MP Victor Popa submitted the largest number of legislative initiatives - 21 individually and another 21 together with other MPs. The Liberal also presented the largest number of reports in Parliament – 112. Socialists Igor Dodon and Zinaida Greceanyi put the highest number of questions and made the highest number of statements.
