Lib-Dems ask for urgently convening Parliament because of floods
The Liberal Democratic Party from Moldova (PLDM) asks for urgently convening the Parliament for an extraordinary sitting to modify the Budget Law, to allocate money to help the victims of the floods and to remove their consequences.
The Parliament can join for an extraordinary sitting upon the requests of the President, of the speaker or of 1/3 of MPs. The PLDM leader, Vlad Filat, has told Info-Prim Neo he is discussing the issue with opposition MPs. “First, speaker Marian Lupu should do so. If he doesn't react, we'll collect signatures from 1/3 parliamentarians,” Vlad Filat said.
PLDM expresses its concern with the natural calamities and its solidarity with the people affected by the floods. The party asks the central and local authorities to display more responsibility in managing the situation and give priority to the victims' interests and needs.
For better efficiency in removing the floods consequences, PLDM asks the Emergency Commission to work permanently and inform the people on the developments in the affected areas.
PLDM is an extra-parliamentary party and Vlad Filat is its only parliamentarian.
