Lib-Dems and Communists share commissions in Singerei, Democrats left out
Councilmen representing the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and the Communist Party (PCRM) in the Singerei Town Council voted together for a deal of distributing commissions which exudes the Democratic faction, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Following the Council's vote on Friday, PCRM got the chairmanship of the Budget and Finance Commission and of the Ecologic Commission, PLDM got the Economy and Construction Commission, and the Liberal Party (PL) got the Social Protection Commission. The Democratic Party (PDM), which has a faction similar in size with the Liberal-Democratic one, was left out of the scheme.
Singerei Mayor Vasile Doga, who at the moment of the vote was a Lib-Dem councilman, told Info-Prim Neo his proposal was to distribute the four commissions so that every of the four factions can take one, however the Democrats were the only ones to refuse the deal.
Yet Democrat Maria Condurachi says things were slightly different from how Vasile Doga described them. She suggests that when Doga proposed them to take the Budget and Finance Commission, he did not really mean it. “This was a merely formal proposal. Even if Vasile Doga made this proposal, our candidate was not endorsed by the PLDM faction”.
When the Democratic faction was offered the Ecological Commission instead, the proposal was refused. “We did it in protest, because the initial understandings about each faction getting one commission weren't respected”, says Maria Condurachi.
The Singerei Town Council has 23 councilmen, including 8 from PCRM, 7 from PLDM, 7 from PDM, and 1 from PL.
