Lib-Dems accused of plagiarizing laws
When at its Thursday's sitting Parliament was presented two similar bills against organized crime, one submitted by the Government and another by the Liberal-Democratic group, Liberal MP Ana Gutu was quick to accuse the Liberal-Democrats of plagiarism.
In report, Lib-Dem Alexandru Cimbrinciuc said the bills were not identical, but only had common concepts. “We are proposing a concrete mechanism for preventing and combating organized crime. Our bill contains 9 new articles”, he said in defense.
Deputy Interiors Minister Iurie Cheptanaru, the author of the bill submitted on behalf of the Government, admitted the law proposed by the Lid-Dems was better: “It is more advanced and it has a better choice of words”.
Liberal leader Mihai Ghimpu warned Cheptanaru that “with such an attitude the crimes in Durlesti and Ialoveni will never be resolved. Please think about it, or else we will look for a better man for this job”.
Alexandru Stoianoglo, the head of the Parliament's public order commission suggested that the bills should be merged.
