The Liberal Democrat Teachers’ Association, a professional structure of the Moldovan Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM), was founded on Saturday, September 13, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to its statute, the goal of the association is to contribute to developing, applying and promoting PLDM’s policies in the area of education. The association also intends to restore teachers’ good name, to create a platform for debates addressing problems in the field of education, to establish direct contacts between the party and educational institutions, etc. The first assembly was attended by some 250 teachers from across Moldova as well as Chisinau. PLDM plans to set up soon an association of liberal democrat local elected authorities.
