Liberal-Democrat MP Iurie Apostolachi is proposing a bill that would allow farmers that owe tax money to the national budget to pay their debts from subsidies, Info-Prim Neo reports. “The bill is intended to enable farmers who are eligible for subsidies and who owe money to the national budget to transfer the subsidies in lieu of the debts, under a common decision of the relevant authorities”, said the MP. The relevant authorities include the territorial fiscal organization with jurisdiction over the area in which the farmer in question operates, and the Ministry of Agriculture's Agency for Interventions and Payments in Agriculture.
