The National Futsal Division starts on November 30 and will bring together only five teams. Double champion Lexmax Chisinau refused to compete this season.
“We want more teams to become involved in the championship. We are tired of playing against the same teams. We may return in a year,” the owner of Lexmax Maxim Lopuhov has told IPN.
“Not all the teams have budgets to play in the National Division,” replied the president of the Futsal Association of Moldova Alexandru Burlacu.
After a pause of eight years, a team from northern Moldova returned to the National Division. Alongside Olimpia Balti, the championship will involve Sokol Tiraspol, Atletico Chisinau, Tarsus Chisinau and current champion Progres Chisinau.
