The level of water in the upper course of the Nistru River will go down this week. No precipitation is expected in the Carpathians of Ukraine.
Liliana Puscasu, press officer of the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, has told IPN that the level of water in the Nistru on some sectors will remain high until the volume accumulated the previous days is released. Afterward, the situation will stabilize. “The forecasts turned out to be true. There are no reasons to believe that the residential sector will be flooded,” she stated, adding that the situation on the Prut River stabilized.
In Ciorna village of Rezina district, a house situated near a stream of the Nistru was flooded on April 16. The water also reached the yard of the local church.
