The protection levee of the drainage channel in Ciobanovca village of Riscani district, which cracked in parts following the heavy rain and flooded four hectares of crops, was reinforced. The works were carried out with the assistance of employees of the Balti Emergencies Division and the Riscani Emergencies Section, IPN reports.

According to a communiqué from the Civil Protection and Emergencies Service, the levee was reinforced with 89 sacks of clay. The works lasted throughout the night and the pressure on the levee of the pond was minimized. The situation is monitored by the competent bodies.

The heavy rain started last weekend. Weather forecasters said it will stop raining on June 9 and it will grow warmer.
