Letters with “Council of Europe – 60 Years” stamp

The special stamp “Council of Europe – 60 Years” will be put today on all the letters that will be sent from the Post Office 2012 in Chisinau, Info-Prim Neo reports. “This is a special stamp, especially for those that collect postage stamps as they can use it on all the stamps dedicated to the Council of Europe issued until present so as to have a collection in the end,” the head of the philatelic editorial service of Moldova’s Post Office Victoria Tanase said at the launch. “It is a symbolic event,” the director of the Information Office of the Council of Europe in Moldova Lilia Snegureac said, referring to the 60th anniversary of the CE. “I have collected stamps for 30 years. The stamps from Moldova are the most valuable to me. I’m pleased that my collection includes stamps dedicated to Europe. I have 3,000 postage stamps in my collection,” said philatelist Sava Calancea. “I exchange stamps with persons from Belarus, China, the Netherlands. They found me through the press. This way, I promote Moldova’s image,” he added. Another philatelist, Iurie Jidari, said he decided to collect stamps in order to study chronologically the events that take place. Moldova’s Post Office has recently issued a set of postage stamps titled “Council of Europe – 60 Years”. It includes the commemorative logo devised by the Council of Europe – a common logo for the 47 member states. The stamps were issued in 100,000 copies. The special stamp “Council of Europe – 60 Years” was launched by the Ministry of Information Development and Moldova’s Post Office.
