Less money allotted for culture this year
Not much money has been invested in culture this year so far owing to the tight budget and the general situation during the last year, Info-Prim Neo reports.
“Regretfully, no major investments in culture have been made this year. The amount earmarked for restoration in 2011 is smaller than last year. We can accuse nobody as the general situated has not improved during the last year as we expected. The investments in culture will be resumed when there is political stability. The instability affects the economy and, implicitly, culture,” said Deputy Minister of Culture Gheorghe Postica.
According to the deputy minister, the budgetary allocations for culture are limited because last year Moldova had to deal with natural disasters. A part of the money was allotted from the Culture Ministry's budget.
