The volume of natural gas consumed in January 2025 amounted to 135.5 million cubic meters, which is by 12.3% less than in the corresponding period of 2024. According to Moldovagaz, compared to December 2024, the figure decreased by 7.8 million cubic meters or 5.4%, IPN reports.

Until January 31, household consumers paid 97.9% of the bills, which is by 0.1 percentage points less than in the same period last year. In the case of non-household customers (legal entities), the payments represent 98.5%, up by 0.5 percentage points compared to the corresponding period of 2024. Enterprises operating in the thermoelectric sector paid 100% of the bills, up 2.3 percentage points.

During the reference period, 317 consumption units were disconnected from the natural gas distribution network because their owners had debts totaling about 1.254 million lei. At the same time, the condition of preventive payment was applied to 109 consumers as a consequence of the previous cessation of supply for failure to pay for the consumed gas on time.

According to Moldovagaz data, the payments for the volume of gas supplied in 2024 on January 31 constituted 98.8%, by 0.8 percentage points more than in 2023, amounting to 10.517 billion lei in absolute figures, taking into account the revision of charges in that period. It should be noted that the gas consumed in January is to be paid in February and the bills were already sent for being distributed.
