The Leova-Bumbăta case continues to be at the criminal investigation phase. The information was confirmed by the head of the Anticorruption Prosecutor's Office Veronica Dragalin at a press conference. Prosecutors are waiting for the report of the National Center for Judicial Expertise.

"We recently received a notification from the National Center for Judicial Expertise, which informed us that the earliest when they will be able to conduct an examination is in 2028," said Dragalin.

According to the official, a way must be found to overcome such a situation. "We cannot block a file until 2028. We have to look for alternative solutions, to find perhaps experts from Romania or from other countries, not from this Center," stated Veronica Dragalin.

The Leova-Bumbata bridge project sparked criticism due to its high costs. Initially, the value of the project was estimated at 250 million lei. Subsequently, the costs increased by 30 million lei.
