Leonid Bujor quits as MP

Minister of Education Leonid Bujor vacated his seat of MP. He made public his decision to leave the post at the start of the Parliament's meeting on Friday, February 26, Info-Prim Neo reports. Alexandru Oleinic and Vladimir Cosarciuc are the next substitute candidates on the AMN's list, but they are both ministers in the Filat Government so that Bujor could be replaced by Mihail Silistraru, the vice president of the AMN. A number of ministers who held simultaneously the post of MP announced similar decisions earlier. Prime Minister Vlad Filat, the leader of the PLDM, was the first to quit as MP. Among the next were Foreign Minister Iurie Leanca, of the PLDM, and Democrat MPs Valentina Buliga, Minister of Labor, Social Protection and Family, Marcel Raducanu, Minister of Construction and Regional Development and Valeriu Lazar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy. Under the legislation, the vacated seats will be taken by the substitute candidates written in the parties' electoral lists. The Constitutional Court is to validate their seats.
