Legislature ratifies additional protocol on provision of €100m in assistance by Romania

The legislative body Friday ratified the additional protocol between the Government of Moldova and the Government of Romania to the agreement on the implementation of the technical and financial assistance program with the non-reimbursable financial assistance of €100 million provided by Romania to Moldova. Fifty-five MPs voted in favor, Info-Prim Neo reports. Signed in Chisinau on September 23, 2010, the protocol contains amendments to four articles of the agreement. It extends the areas where the programs financed by Romania are implemented by including the field of humanitarian assistance provided in emergencies. Under the protocol, the humanitarian assistance includes all the steps taken in case of natural disasters with the aim of alleviating their consequences on the victims, including the assistance offered in the rehabilitation and reconstruction process following a humanitarian crisis.
