Legislature declares post of BCC member vacant
Parliament Friday declared a post of member of the Broadcasting Coordination Council (BCC) vacant as Gheorghe Gorincioi reached retirement age, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Corina Fusu, deputy head of the parliamentary commission on culture, education, research, youth and mass media, said that under the Broadcasting Code, the term in office of those who reach retirement age expires.
Earlier, the commission asked the Council to provide explanations why Gheorghe Gorincioi does not vacate the seat as he reached retirement age. “The BCC chairman Marian Pocaznoi responded that it is not within the competence of the Council to take measures and adopt decisions as regards this subject. It is the duty of the parliamentary commission,” said Corina Fusu.
She also said that earlier Marian Pocaznoi informed the legislature about the leaving of the post by Ruslan Plesca, who was convicted by court under a definitive decision.
