The Parliament’s legal commission voted the finalized bill on the prosecution service, IPN reports, quoting a message posted by Democratic MP Sergiu Sarbu on a social networking site. This said that the work on the bill was done in conditions of ‘lies and manipulation’, but ‘the reforms will anyway go on!”.
“The legal commission voted the final variant of the bill! I vehemently condemn the lie and manipulation on the part of those MPs who have blocked the reform for over eight years and today tell tales about particular violations so as to justify their unwillingness to vote. We worked on this draft law during many meetings, within working groups that involved experts, including former prosecutors of the National Anticorruption Directorate of Romania! By the way, those colleagues who today level criticism didn’t at least take part in the working groups dealing with the bill. Without changing the conception of the bill, we made some linguistic adjustments that only improve the bill. Regardless of the frustrations of some, the reforms will go on!” said the MP, without giving names.
