Legal Clinic to open in Chisinau

A Legal Clinic will open in Chisinau to provide a platform for debates on legal aspects of the e-Government. Officials as well as business, academic and civil society representatives are expected to participate. The event, the first of its kind, is organized to mark the Week of Information Security in the Government, taking place between October 15 and 19, Info-Prim Neo reports. e-Government Center director Stela Mocanu said that the transition to a “paperless government” would bring many benefits, but also challenges, such as the security of information. Deputy Government Secretary Roman Cazacu revealed that the Government already took several measures to increase the security of information, such as the implementation of the electronic system for the management of papers and of registrations of central public authorities and the data exchange on secure channels. Dirk Schuebel , Head of the EU Delegation to Moldova, noted that October was declared the month of information security in the EU and appreciated the organization of the Week of Information Security in the Government. “Moldova will join the EU information space and it’s important that officials, businessmen and citizens knew the methods to secure information”, said the European official. The motto of the Week of Information Security in the Government is “Feel yourself at home in the cyberspace, be safe!”. During the next week, workshops and round tables will be held with the participation of local and foreign experts.
