Leanca makes known name of his future party

The party that ex-Premier Iurie Leanca intends to launch at the beginning of next week will be called the European People’s Party. On March 20, Iurie Leanca told the journalists that next week they will start to collect signatures so as to register the party, IPN reports.

“We planned to do this today, but we understood that there will be an eclipse of the sun and we do not want to be eclipsed by other natural phenomena. In general, we are ready and at the start of next week we will initiate the procedure for collecting signatures and for registering the party,” noted Iurie Leanca.

The ex-Premier also said that when he discussed with European officials in Brussels, he realized that these are confused and disappointed by what happened in Moldova after the November 30 elections and this affects Moldova’s image. The political class of Moldova should make considerable effort so as not to completely lose foreign partners’ confidence and take concrete actions to really reform the law enforcement bodies.

Iurie Leanca’s project has been so far joined by Eugen Carpov, Victor Lutenco, Valeriu Chiveri, and Iulian Groza.
