Leadership seminars for female candidates running in local elections
Women from all over the country who intend to run in the local elections can take part in a program aimed at encouraging women to involve in community development. The program is designed to improve local governance by supporting and developing rural women’s abilities to engage in community initiatives and participate in public and political decision-making, Info-Prim Neo reports.
According to a press release from Soros Foundation Moldova, the training course consisting of three modules will begin on February 25 and continue until April 2. The first module - Developing civil leadership skills - is scheduled for February 25-26, the second one - Developing political leadership skills - for March 10-12, while the final one - Project drafting and management – for March 31- April 2.
To be accepted, applicants must show increased interest in professional development and willingness to establish partnerships with other Moldovan women to promote leadership. Applications must include a covering letter, the registration form and the person’s CV. They must be sent by e-mail to organizers until February 7. The training course will take place in Chisinau. Food and accommodation expenses will be covered by organizers.
The Women’s Leadership Development Program is a project of Soros Foundation Moldova’s Equality and Civic Engagement Program, implemented in cooperation with the Partnership for Development Center. The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency is funding the project.
