Three extraparliamentary parties – the People’s Party (PPRM), the Social Democratic Party (PSD) and the Green Ecologist Party – announced their intention to take part in this autumn’s parliamentary elections. The announcement was made by the leaders of the three parties in the program “Place for dialogue” on the public station Radio Moldova, IPN reports.
PPRM chairman Alexandru Oleinic said the party he heads supports the pro-European course. “We will propose a new platform that centers on economic stability. The country’s development course was set 24 years ago and this is the pro-European one. Now we must agree what we have to do following the signing of the Association Agreement with the EU. Regretfully, in a number of areas the country isn’t ready to implement this accord and thus we witness a situation similar to that in agriculture,” he stated.
Anatol Prohnitski, the head of the Green Ecologist Party, noted that even if the party that he heads is not in power, it contributed to the country’s integration into the EU. “We persuaded ecologist MPs from different European legislatures to vote for the ratification of the Association Agreement between Moldova and the EU,” he said.
Tatiana Nitsa, who is a member of the PSD’s National Council, said the Social Democratic Party is for Moldova’s entry into the Customs Union. The PSD will not level criticism at the election runners, but will make effort to convince the voters that its platform is the best.
